How to Steam Clean Upholstery
Getting tired of looking at your upholstered furniture? Have you purchased or rented an upholstery steam cleaner and have no idea what to do next? 1. Along with your machine, use a cleaner solution or if your steamer is chemical free or if it uses dry or vapor steam you may not need this. Note: before applying any solution test it on area that’s not easily seen
2. Spot treat any stains before you start the steaming process. This can be accomplished with a spot removal solution, scrub brush (may be included in your machine’s accessories), or a damp cloth
3. Remove any particles that may be residing on your furniture. For example debris, lint, pet hair, etc. This can be done by using a small attachment that’s on your vacuum or a handheld vacuum.
4. Please, please read the instruction manual that is included with your steaming device before operating it.
5. Remove any cushions or covers from furniture
6. Utilizing your steamer create a straight line motion on each section of the furniture. Do not do all sections at one time.
7. Depending on your type of steamer, you may need to allow for each area of your furniture to dry completely before moving on to the next section.
8. Always let your furniture dry before returning any cushions or covers.
