Steam cleaners are known as an all-around house cleaning help. It cleans just about anything including bathroom floors, sofa, carpet, windowsills, cars, and even motorcycles. If it can do all that and more, it can naturally clean rugs effortlessly.
How does it work really?
These things look like a vacuum cleaner only with a hunched motor attached to the cleaning tube. You fill out the reservoir with water. The amount will depend on the capacity of the brand you are using.
Plug it in and switch the start button and it will start boiling the water. When water is heated up, it will later evaporate and produce steam. Steam has a hotter temperature than boiling water. This is why it is known to kill more germs and bacteria commonly found in household.
You can also use it on rugs. Just get rid of visible dusts and specks of dirt in a rug first. You might want to use your vacuum cleaner first for that or just use your broom and whack it against the rug to get rid of dusts. Once you have done so and removed a fair amount of visible specks, you can then use the steam cleaner. Direct the hose in the rug until you are satisfied with its cleanliness.
It is important to get rid of dusts and specks of dirt first because this cleaner produces moisture. When moisture combines with those specks of dirt, it can lead to a muddy rug. Either you do that or get a cleaner that produces dry steam. This means, the steam that comes out of it does not produce a lot of moisture.
There are also steam vacuum cleaners around. These have the combined efficiency of a steam cleaner and a vacuum cleaner so you can have both. Many people are confused about what to choose. Some say a vacuum cleaner is better while others say the former is better because it can get rid of germs. If you are in the same dilemma, why not get a two in one machine. That should help you out in cleaning your household effortlessly.
Just an advice, get one that produces less moisture. This way, there won’t be pools of water left on the floor or wherever you are cleaning. One with a safety trigger lock or anti-drip reservoir is also good for your protection so you can prevent being burned from the very hot steam.
